Problem 5  Pollution of the Magdalena River in the municipality of Magangue Bolivar

The Magadalena River is the main economic source of this municipality because this river has a lot of natural resources in other words, most people work and feed their families through fishing and means of transportations. Sorrowfully the human being for the eagerness or ambition to get money destroying our Mother Earth but at the same time human beings are so unconscious of this that they do not see how our Mother Nature cries and if you asking how cries probably it does it throug its ecosystem… to be more explecit in my municipality it cries through the medium of:

• ü  Heat wave or climate change
• ü  Drought
• ü  Hurricanes
• ü  Flood

Problem 4.  Illegal mining in California Ville in Santander de Qulichao City.

The problem that I can find is about of illegal mining, this is causing hurts in the nature mother and this community if this disuniting. This is causing that the person no longer work the estate, we´re observing that in the mining are winning more money, is for this reason that they preferring work in the mining, with all this our child’s no want study, because they want money, clear that in our community are little the indigenous child´s who study, all this in part affect. Me worries much the environment, because in parts the births of water are disappearing, also that can occur any tragedy and the families are the that suffer.

Problem 3 CONTAMINANTS OF THE CANE CULTIVATION IN PALMIRA (VALLE)

In Palmira we have one of the most important companies dedicated to the production of cane sugar and other derivatives thereof. In the production of these products are emitted various forms of pollution such as the following:

Pollution of the air by burning of cane and transportation of waste

On several occasions in the city there has been evidence of ash emissions which produces the cane burning process. This has brought with itself many people that have respiratory diseases which complicate with the passage of time coming to death. It has been heard about government campaigns in which they have banned this type of activities for what the ingenuities must pay a fine if they want to burn the cane, but this has not served to stop this practice since for these companies it is easier to pay the fine and to follow the activity without caring anything, being affected the population in urban zone and of the surrounding by the particles of ash as well as the animals that coexist with the population.

The transport of waste as the bagasse for the manufacture of paper has become in another problem and it´s that despite the fact that it is a process of recycling and improvement of the environment, they have problems with the transport of this type of waste. In the city of Palmira one of the main routes used for transporting this product was the company that were responsible using his containers, in which the vehicle passes, much of this material is filtered which has very small particle and are easy for entering the system respiratory of human and animals producing infections respiratory.

Contamination of water and air by use of fertilizers

In the process of irrigation and conditioning of soils is cane using different products that end up in the waters of the rivers. For example, in the process of sugar production there remain cachaza and honeys that are used to create alcohol fuel and in this part of the process leaves an agent called vinasse which ends up with the oxygen of the waters destroying forms of life that are in it. This agent it applied with urea and dry cachaza as fertilizer and in addition to ending little fauna that still remains in the rivers of the region produces bad odors that affect the population that limits in the city with these fields.

Problem 2   WASTE IN PUBLIC SITES IN BARRANQUILLA

As we know, environmental problems are harmful effects of the human activity on the environment and there are many types of environmental problems, such as, air pollution and water pollution. My city has many problems, but I consider the big environmental situation is the trash, it is evident, and you can see it when you are walking on the streets.
This is a very sad situation, in my opinion it is fault of the culture. I think the generations have passed without any consciousness about it. It is amazing how people throw trash on the streets, even having a trash can close, they don’t care, and they just throw it. For years my city has had a stream problem when rain, so people just “take advantage” of this to throw all the trash they have on the stream, causing a bad situation of littering on the streets when stop raining. And also it bring another consequence, because some of the waste go to river, causing damages to the water and animals that live there and sickness to the people that live in the shores of the river.
If we have a big event like a parade, a concert, a big celebration, etc, you don’t want to see the place at the end of the celebration, rubbish all over the place.
I think some people that concern about the environment have tried to educate and inform the community about how to recycle and protect the environment, with pamphlets, commercials, or visiting schools, but it seems to me this has been a waste of time, or they need to change the strategies because they are not working.
Personally, I consider that the solution starts from home, parents should teach  their children how to take care of the environment, that’s why I don’t let my daughters to throw trash on the floor, and if they don’t have a bin close,  they save it, put it in a bag until they find a trash can.

Proposal to solve the problem

1. The public administration must create big billboards about the waste manage, also those can show messages about reuse, reduce and recycle waste in that city.

     

2. The public administration must provide waste cans in streets and parks.

3. School must teach about the appropriate use of the waste in the house, school and public sites.

4. Implement fines, penalties and educational comparisons to people that throw away your waste.

 

5.  But the best solution for this problem around the world is improve people's culture,and it is posible only with de education from parents at home and teachers at schools.

Problem 1  Oil exploitation in La Hormiga City

La Hormiga city is an important town in the Putumayo Department. It is characterized as a typical town of the Amazonian region, it has one of the most relevant environmental problem is the derived from the extraction of petroleum, in the following list I am going to show some problems caused by oil extraction.

1.   

 Deforestation in the exploration stage.

 La Hormiga city is rounded for jungle and forests, when the oil enterprises need to explore new  sources of this liquid they need to cut down so many trees to open ways, routes and come in heavy  machinery, also they cave deep holes in the floor of those jungle that causes several damages to the  soil, microorganisms and plants.

 Oil spills.

The oil spills cause serial contamination of the hydric sources for this reason a lot of aquatic species die and terrestrial and aerial species that use the water of the rivers too.

Air pollution.

The permanent combustion and the release of toxic elements make a constant air pollution causing damages to the atmosphere. When we visit an oil plant we always see fire burning toxic gases, it is a terrible thing. .
